Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1404.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Mitzi Markerson Aucoin, 47, a native of Franklin and resident of Houma, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 10:54 a.m. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and resume Tuesday, April 22, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 10 a.m. until time of dismissal at 12:30 p.m., with a eulogy given at 12:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin, with Fr. Clyde Mahler officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Blake Aucoin; their son, Andrew John Aucoin; their daughter, Alexis Elise Aucoin; her parents, John Lewis Markerson Jr. and Joanne Martin Markerson; two brothers, Chris M. Markerson Sr. and his wife Rachelle and Brad M. Markerson and his wife Rachel; and nieces and nephews, Joni M. Thomas, Caroline Markerson, Chris M. Markerson Jr., Matthew J. Markerson, Meagan E. Markerson, Hunter M. Markerson and Lanie E. Markerson. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John L. Markerson Sr. and Charlie Mae Markerson; her maternal grandparents, Medric Martin and Mildred Martin; one brother, John L. Markerson III; and her father-in-law, Andy A. Aucoin Jr. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church in Houma. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jon Olson, Dr. Russell Henry, Mary Byrd Perkins Cancer Center and Haydel Memorial Hospice. Also a special thank you to all friends, neighbors and volunteers who supported Mitzi through her journey.
