"Brother" Burt, 54, born and raised in McComb, MS, and a resident of Patterson for the past 24 years, who passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening at his home. Rev. Joe Thibeau will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Ibert's Mortuary from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will resume in McComb, MS, Monday, April 14, 2014, from 5:00PM until 9:00 PM, with service time at 7:00PM at Jones Family Funeral Services, LLC, 905 Park Drive, McComb, MS, 39648. Rev. David Millican will officiate the service. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to all that knew him. He was the founder and owner along with his wife, Charlotte, of GC Tech for many years and recently began working with Eagle Marine Services, as the Advanced System Superintendent. Survivors include his father and stepmother, J.W. and Dottie Burt; his two daughters, Melissa Boyd Self and Crystal "Cassie" Boyd; two grandchildren, Alexis Skye Self and Bradley Gaines Carter; one sister, Terrie Burt Redd; and his sister-in-law, Anna Adams Wacker and her husband Charlie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Adams Burt; his mother, Katherine Mixon Burt; and one sister, Vickie Elaine Burt. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Brother's memory to the ASPCA , Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to the National Rifle Association.
