Clemons Jr., 87, born in Farmer City, IL and a resident of Bayou Vista passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Jess leaves to cherish his memory his three loving children, Mark Clemons and his wife, Cindy, of Berwick, Leslie Clemons Guidry and her husband, Greg, of New Iberia, and Scott Clemons of Baton Rouge; one brother, Harold Clemons and his wife, Avis, of Texas; one sister-in-law, Virginia Clemons of Illinois; five grandchildren, Daniel Clemons and his wife, Amy, Alysse Clemons, Courtenae Pourciau and her husband, Peyton, Jeremy Guidry and his wife, Nicole, and Meghan Broussard and her husband, Adam; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Theresa "Billie" Joyce Landry Clemons; his father, Jess R. Clemons Sr.; his mother, Ethel Holt Clemons; a son, Jess R. Clemons III; one brother, George "Tug" Clemons; one sister, Alice "Sis" Clemons Campbell, and one nephew. Jess was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who held many interests like: gardening, woodworking, and working on cars. A World War II and Korean War veteran, Jess proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jess retired after nearly 38 years of dedicated service to Exxon. After his retirement he spent his time traveling and spending time with his family. Most importantly, Jess lovingly and diligently took time to tend and care for his wife, Billie. Also, he did enjoy his dogs and purple martins. Jess was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 6pm to 9pm at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Thursday, April 17th at 9am until time of services at 10am at Hargrave Funeral Home with Father Greg Pratt officiating. Jess will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
