Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1404.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Percy Lee Prince, who passed away at the age of 81 on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 12:18 AM at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. He will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Fr. Gregory Cormier will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM led by Deacon Theo Landry. The mortuary will reopen Thursday morning at 8:30 AM until time of dismissal at 10:30 AM. Mr. Percy was a native of Weeks Island and a resident of Baldwin for the past 49 years. He answered the call of his country, serving in the United States Army stateside during the Korean Conflict. He was a faith filled man and a dedicated member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Percy was also a very generous man, helping anyone in need. He was a former longtime employee of Cabot where he worked as a lab technician, dedicating over 30 years of faithful service. His passion in life was his family. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. Survivors include one daughter, Tracy Prince Lawrence; one son, Kirt Prince and his wife Rachel; two grandchildren, Ryan Lawrence and his wife Erin and Rebecca Lawrence Pye and her husband Jason; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Lawrence; three sisters, Alice P. Belton and her husband Joe, Marie P. Broussard, and Betty P. Rodriguez and her husband Daniel; his god-child, Allyson Billodeau; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mire Prince; his parents, Vital "Chunk" Prince and Aline Legnon Prince; and one brother-in-law, Bob Broussard.
