Cathryn B. "Kate" Alfred, 89, a resident of Morgan City passed away Thursday, 
May 1, 2014 at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Kate was born on November 4, 1924 in Morgan City the daughter of Erman Budge 
Sr. and Cora Arceneaux Budge.

Kate enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards, and especially liked going to the 
casinos. She was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and the Tulane Green 
Wave. Kate enjoyed spending time with her family especially spoiling her 
grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Momee". She also enjoyed going to 
all her grandchildren's sporting events.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter Jody Hains and 
husband Price of Stephensville; one son, William "Billy" Alfred III and wife 
Brenda of Madisonville; five grandchildren, William "Will" Alfred IV and wife 
Robyn of Mandeville, Shane Alfred and wife Rhonda of Houma, San Hains and wife 
Rachel of Slidell, Leah Hains DiMatteo and husband Matt of Stephensville, Brett 
Hains and wife Noelle of Houma; eight great grandchildren, Jonathan Alfred, 
Ryan Alfred, Jordan Alfred, Alexis Alfred, Alaina Alfred, Dylan Hains, Gavin 
DiMatteo, Meah DiMatteo, and one on the way.

Kate was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Alfred Jr.; two 
brothers, Cyrus Budge, Erman Budge Jr.; one nephew Cyrus Budge Jr.

The family would like to thank all of Kate's friends and staff at Morgan City 
Healthcare Center, Dr. Lianter Albert, the staff of the intensive care unit at 
Teche Regional Medical Center, Dr. Ralph Bourgeois and Dr. Patrick Walker, the 
critical care unit of Terrebonne General Medical Center. The family would like 
to give a special thanks to Alma Vidrine for the care she gave Kate in her 
final hours.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Twin 
City Funeral Home with Father Danny Poche officiating. Visitation will be held 
from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. 

Kate will be laid to rest following the funeral service in the Morgan City 
Cemetery.
