October 17, 1932 - May 22, 2014 A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, May 26, 2014, 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Ernest Millet Broussard, 81, a resident of Patterson who passed away Thursday evening May 22, 2014 at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, La. He will be buried in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Patterson on Monday, May 26, 2014. Ernest was born and raised in Patterson. He graduated from Patterson High School in 1951 and enlisted into the United States Air Force that same summer during the Korean Conflict. Ernest served four years as an air weatherman and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class (Sergeant) in June 1955. Ernest married Anne Carinhas on December 17, 1955. During his work life he worked in various management positions at the Patterson Shipyard and Patterson Shrimp Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1710 in Patterson. Survivors include his wife Anne and two sons, Stephen and Bruce, as well as three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leona Broussard; and six siblings, Flo Roland, Blanche Kraft, Marguerite Grant, Robert Broussard Jr., Gloria Edwards, and Joseph Broussard. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday May 26, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson starting at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Mr. Ernest's name to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O.
