James "Jimmie" Anthony Morgan Sr. a lifelong resident of Morgan City, born June 
17, 1944 passed away Friday May 23, 2014 in Houma at The age of 69.

Jimmie was happily retired; he was a very hard and dedicated worker for 52 
years. He enjoyed working with the public, never at a loss for words and was 
well respected in the community. He worked for Aucoins Hardware, Chris' Sak- N- 
Save, and Cannatas Supermarket. Jimmie enjoyed sitting on his porch most days, 
on Saturday mornings he was out there listening to Swamp Pop. He loved to fish 
but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. A loving 
husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Jimmie will be 
deeply missed by everyone he touched.

Jimmie leaves behind to cherish his memoirs his loving wife and best friend of 
50 wonderful years, JoAnn Gros Morgan, five children, Cherie Dupuy, Samantha 
Ferguson and her husband Gary, Jimmie Morgan Jr. and his fiancˇ Shawnetta, 
Chris Morgan Sr. and his wife Cheryl, and L.J. Morgan Sr.and his wife Danyelle, 
ten grandchildren , Derek, Carey, Dustin, Chad, Sara, Brei, Chris Jr., Alexia, 
Kyndall, and L.J. Jr.; 2 great- grandchildren, Noah and Raelynn, and numerous 
nieces and nephews.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Louis Morgan and Theresa Tourera 
Morgan, and his brothers Ronnie Morgan Sr. and Baby Morgan.

Visitation will be Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 pm 
until 10 pm, continuing Thursday May 29, 2014 at Hargrave Funeral Home at 8 am 
until dismissal at 9.30 am
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Wednesday May 29, 2014 at Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church at 10 am. 

Jimmie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
