Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1406.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, June 20, 2014, at 2:00PM at the Church of the Assumption for Eula Mae Miguez Black, 86, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin who passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at 5:50 AM at her residenc. She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Miles Ayers, Lucas Dore', Jeremy Tucker, Jerry Ritter and Kenny Miguez. Father Glenn Meaux will officiate the services. Eula Mae was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She worked for Southern Bell Telephone from 1946-1951, then went to work for Shell Oil Company in 1953. She married Jimmy Black in 1953, his work with Cabot took them to different states and countries, but their home was always Franklin. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at Ibert's Mortuary from 10:00 AM until service time, with the rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM. Survivors include three children, James Dale Black, Boni Black Ritter and her husband Jerry and Barry Mark Black and his longtime companion Roxie Day; three granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Tucker and her husband Jeremy, Erin Michelle Dore' and her husband Lucas and Jennifer Lee Ayers and her husband Miles and five great grandchildren, Ava Dore', Aiden Dore', Lillian Tucker, Bly Tucker and Finlay Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Durwood Black, an infant daughter; her parents, Emile, Sr. and Adrienne Escagne Miguez; two brothers, Emile Miguez, Jr. and Ory J. Miguez and his wife Alma; two sisters, Nell Miguez and Hazel Noonan and her husband Morris. To her caregivers, Donna Davis, Sherry Carter, Val Carter and Alice Randle, a very special thanks to all of you for giving her such loving care.
