Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1406.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 1:30 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Edward J. St. Martin, Sr. He will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Centerville. Father Ruben Primor will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM, and again Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Rory Vanhaverbeke, Mike St. Martin, Mark St. Martin, Jared St. Martin, Seth St. Martin, and Monica St. Martin. Mr. Edward, a native of New Iberia and resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Korean War, and was a Deputy Sheriff for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office for 25 years. Survivors include three sons, Edward J. St. Martin, Jr. and his wife Doretta of New Iberia, Alfred J. St. Martin of Franklin, and Alvin M. St. Martin of Denham Springs; two daughters, Karen DeMahy and her husband Howard of New Iberia and Suzan Shoemaker and her husband William of New Iberia; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Achee St. Martin; his parents, Alfred Louis St. Martin and Ultima Crochet St. Martin; three brothers, Leonard, Herman, and Alton St. Martin; and two sisters, Cecile St. Martin and Rita Blanchard.
