A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 
2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Verdunville for Lillian 
Gertrude Paul Fleming, 79 years old, a native and lifelong resident of 
Verdunville, who passed away at 10:55 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Our Lady of 
Lourdes in Lafayette. 
Fr. Thomas Vu will celebrate the Mass. 

She will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. 

Serving as pallbearers are Lawrence Broussard, Allen Pillaro, Jezer Martinez, 
Derrick Stewart, Rodney Landry, Rondell Landry and James Emanuel Jones. 
Honorary pallbearers are Bishop Charles Perry, Jr., Ackoloy Paul, Richard 
Burgess, Arnold Pellerin, Cosmus Pellerin, Joshua Pellerin, Tony Paul, Kevin 
Pellerin, Terry Pellerin, Sr., Althemus Pellerin, Tim Pellerin, Danny McKnight 
and Dennis Pellerin.

Mrs. Gertrude was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, 
sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis J. Fleming, Sr.; her daughter, Cheryl F. 
Perry and her husband Bishop Charles Perry, Jr.; her granddaughter, Ashlee 
Fleming Jones and her fiance' Jezer Martinez; two great grandchildren, James 
Emanuel Jones and Lillian "Lily" Alise Martinez; two sisters, Vera Paul Thomas 
and Roberta Paul Landry; along with numerous other family members and friends 
who loved and adored her.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis "DJ" Fleming, Jr.; one daughter, 
Mary Fleming; her parents, Acry and Marybell Guillory Paul; stepmother, Loretta 
Paul; brothers, Acry Paul, Jr., Edison Paul Sr., and Claude Paul, Sr.; her 
sister, Bernadine Paul; her brothers-in-law, Lawrence Landry, Sr. and Joseph 
Thomas; and her sisters-in-law, Gloria Paul and Althea Paul.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, at Immaculate 
Conception Church in Verdunville from 10:30 AM until time of service, with the 
rosary being prayed at 12:30 PM.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
