Leroy "Hawk" Hawkins, Sr., age 77, a native of Bayou Sale, La. and a resident 
of Verdunville, La., died  Wednesday, Juy 9, 2014 at 7:45 AM at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin, 
La., from 11:00 AM until funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the 
Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville, La.

Mr. Leroy was employed and retired from Wal-mart.

"Hawk" leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Rosa Lee Austin-Hawkins of 
Verdunville, La., four sons, Leroy (Geraldine)Hawkins, Jr., of Four Corners, 
La., John H. (Lucinda) Parker and Lynnis Parker both of Patterson, La., and 
Eric Kirt of Jeanerette, La; six daughters, Veronica Hawkins (Herman) Jones of 
Morgan City, La., Kathleen Hawkins of Centerville, La., Sheryl Hawkins 
(Kenneth) Washington of Franklin, La., Stephanie (James) Joseph of Patterson, 
La., Eliecia Adams of Euless, TX., and Stephanie Evans of Florida; three 
sisters, Sylvia (Dot) Jenkins of Centerville, La., Elizabeth (Wilfred) 
Richardson of New Orleans, La., and 1st Lady Donna (Elder Donald) Lancelin of 
Baldwin, La; twenty-nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host 
of relatives and friends.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Hawkins and Elizabeth Payne 
Hawkins, four sisters, Clara Hunt, Lou Ethel Hawkins, Essie Hawkins and 
Catherine Griffin; two brothers, James Hawkins and Louis Hawkins, Jr; and a 
daughter, Charlotte Hawkins.
