A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 14, 2014, at 11:00 
AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Mrs. Blanche Simoneaux Sons, 
82, a longtime resident of Patterson, who passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at 
2:10 AM at the Morgan City Health Care Center. 

She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery. 

Father Herb Bennerfield will officiate the services. A gathering of family and 
friends will be held Monday at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 7:00 AM for 
family and 8:00 AM for guests until 10:30 AM.

Mrs. Blanche was a longtime beautician, operating her own beauty shop, 
Blanche's Beauty Shop, in Patterson. She loved telling stories and could always 
make you laugh with one of her many jokes. She loved showing off her photos and 
newspaper clippings of her family and friends. 
Some of her hobbies included sewing and going to garage sales. She will be 
missed by her beloved family and many friends.

Survivors include three sons, David Sons and his wife Janet of Patterson, 
Dennis Sons of Patterson, and Darryl Sons and his wife Tammy of Panama City 
Beach; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Ivy Sons; her parents, Octave 
and Effie Simoneaux; one brother, Rudy Simoneaux; and one sister, Edna Wilson.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help alleviate 
funeral expenses.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the exceptional 
care given to Mrs. Blanche by the staff of Morgan City Health Care Center. A 
very special thanks to Clayton Diaz, a true friend.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1111 Lia Street, 
Patterson, LA
