Yvonne "Bonnie" Bateman Kane born on May 29, 1044, a native of Morgan City and 
a resident of Cade, LA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and 
friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the age of 70. 

Bonnie had an infectious smile and a heart of gold. She lit up any room she 
walked into. She was a fun-loving and compassionate wife, mother and 
grandmother. She had the capability of bringing out the best in everyone. She 
had a love for writing and touched so many people with her published book of 
poetry and short stories. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spoiling her fur 
babies, Dusty, Daisy and Beaux. Her greatest joys were attending anything in 
which her grandchildren were involved. Her family was her life.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Pat Kane of Cade; three daughters: Annette 
Leger and her fiancˇe, Keith Girard of Berwick, Susan Mahfouz and husband, 
Chris of Bayou Vista and Bonnie Guarisco of Morgan City; eight grandchildren: 
Tyler Thibodeaux, Sage Thibodeaux, Gregory Leger Jr., Rebecca Philbrook and 
husband, Thomas, Colby Mahfouz, Dominick Guarisco, Samuel Guarisco Jr. and 
Philip Guarisco; one brother, Edward Colee and wife, Kathy and two brothers-in-
law: Jerry Kane and wife, Eva and Greg Kane and wife, Linda.

Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents, Wheaton Bateman and Larue Paris 
Written.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home 
beginning at 5pm until 9pm and will resume on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church at 8am until 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 
at 11am and 

she will laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery 
after the mass.
