Beloved husband of Mergie Bergeron Miller after 56 years of Sacred Marriage. Loving father of Karen, Randall and Glenn Miller and Wayne Miller (wife Carol). Devoted grandfather of Brandon Miller and expected arrival of Baby Girl Miller. Son of the late Edvina Lyons and Nolton Miller Sr. Brother of Earlin Miller ( wife Nora), Janell Thibodeaux (husband Herbert) , Nolton Miller Jr. wife Joann) and the late Gurvin Miller (surviving wife Norma), and Eula Mae Bergeron. Also survived and adored by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mr. Miller started his career as a young man in the shoe store business as a salesman and eventually worked his way up to Senior Vice President of Volume Shoe Corporation. After an early retirement, he started J. Miller Enterprises, his family pay phone business that prospered throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. In 2010 he retired and sold the business. His last 11 years of retirement was spent along side his wife, Mergie and they joined two other friends and formed the group called The Four Seniors, where they voluntarily entertained the elderly at various nursing homes. He was an avid sports fan, especially LSU and New Orleans Saints football. His main pleasure in life was having his family around him and he will always be loved and remembered by all who knew him. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Bhanderi and the nurses and staff at St. Theresa Medical Complex for the love, care and comfort that they provided. Aged 75 years, a native of Church Point, Louisiana and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for the past 44 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, on Wednesday evening August 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Thursday August 7, 2014 a visitation will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home 1031 Victor II Blvd. Morgan City, Louisiana from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church 2100 Cedar St., Morgan City at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Morgan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Theresa Medical Complex 3601 Loyola Dr. Kenner, Louisiana 70065.
