Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1408.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Verdunville for Mr. Floyd Edgar Paul, Sr., 91, a native and longtime resident of Verdunville, who passed away early Friday, August 29, 2014, at his home. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Father Thomas Vu will officiate the services. Musical selections for the Mass will be A Blessing, Here I Am Lord, Jesus Remember Me, Prayer of St. Francis, Be Not Afraid, Open My Eyes Lord, and Fly Like A Bird. Organist will be Trudy Andrews with Audrey McIlwain, Mr. Floyd's daughter, as vocalist. Serving as pallbearers will be Reginald Burgess, Aaron Burgess, Shawn Paul, Sr., Wilbert Paul, Jr., Randy Paul, Sr., and Javian Ervin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ceasar Lopez, Roland Gunner, Sr., Roderick Paul, Verner Young, Roland Gunner, Jr., Ronnie McIlwain, and Jessie Landry. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 1:30 PM. Mr. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army, having faithfully served his country and fellow man during World War II. Survivors include three children, Mildred Paul Young and her husband Verner, Floyd Paul, Jr., and Audrey Paul McIlwain and her husband Ronnie; one sister, Mary Paul Bourgeois and her husband Dennis; seven grandchildren, Gentile, Tammy, Corrine, Shawn, Katherine, Roni, and Roderick; 14 great grandchildren; a special niece, Angela Gunner; and two special nephews, Reginald and Aaron Burgess. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine Verdun Paul; four children, Catherine Paul, Roy J. Paul, Flora Helphenstine, and Rosemary Tauriac; his parents, Mike Paul, Sr. and Lilly Dardar Paul; eight brothers, Roy Paul, Elwood Paul, Harold Paul, Sr., Mike Paul, Jr., Eolours Paul, Larry Paul, Sr., Wilbert Paul, Sr., Willard Paul; and three sisters, Mildred Verdun, Sadie Paul, and Juanita Burgess.
