Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1410.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Myrtle "Myrt" Matthews-Colbert, age 89, a resident of Franklin, La. and a native of Ashton, La, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Franklin Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin at 7:55 PM. Visitation will be from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., on Saturday October 4, 2014 at St. Peter The Apostle Church (Four Corners) 1325 Big Four Corners Rd. Franklin, La., with a rosary being recited at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dismas Mauk, SVD serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Baldwin, La. Myrtle is survived by her two children; Alvin Colbert, Sr. (Elaine) of Youngsville, La., and Mary Colbert of Missouri, City, Tx.; one sister, Vervidell Matthews of Franklin, La; three grandchildren, Toya, Alvin, Jr.(Alanda) and Andre’; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Leona Keys of Oakland Ca.; three brother-in-laws, Coleman ”Craig” Colbert of Ashton, La., Lacy Colbert of Berkeley, Ca. and Harold Drexler Sr. of New Iberia, La., and host of nieces and nephews. Also "Myrt" is survived by one godchild, Vivian Melvin of Houston, TX; two close friends, Dorothy Butler of Franklin, La., and Margaret ”Sutter” Arceneaux of Ashton, La. Myrtle was preceded in death by: her parents, Joe and Earnestine Matthews; her husband, Louis “Squirrel” Colbert, Jr.; one sister, Earline Drexler and four brothers, Cleveland, Lawless, Ulysses, Horace Matthews ===================
