Charlie was loved by everyone. He leaves behind a son, Scott A. Hitt; a daughter, Roxy Hitt Chanslor and her husband, John Chanslor; three grandchildren, Jason Chanslor, Emily Hitt and Jillian Hitt; and two great-grandchildren, Reece Chanslor and Rhodes Chanslor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susie Hitt. He served in the Army Air Force and was trained as an airplane mechanic. He owned an oil field service company “Power Products” in Patterson for a number of years. His hobbies included photography and shooting. In his later years, he retired to Land O Lakes, Florida, to be near his family there. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. His Hospice nurse said, “he was the nicest patient I’ve ever had.” The memorial service will be held at Higher Ground Family Church, 3369 La. 70 in Morgan City (just past Brownell Memorial Park) at 6 p.m. Oct. 20, 2014.
