Larry Hobbs, Pastor of Teche Baptist Church, officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, October 25, from 1:00 PM until time of service. Ms. Johnson was born February 27, 1922 in Throckmorton, TX, one of 13 children born to the late William Lamar Hibbitts and the late Hattie Cordelia Hayes Hibbitts. A resident of Katy, TX, Ms. Adnell passed away at the age of 92 on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Franklin Foundation Hospital, following a brief illness. Survivors include two sons, James "Jim" Wayne Johnson and his wife Nancy of Katy, TX, and Jack Layne Johnson and his wife Lorelei of Murfreesboro, TN; five sisters, Mary Katherine Periera, Edna Maude Pugh, Marjorie Shaw, Nancy Singleton, and Alberta James; five grandchildren, Leigh Ellen Walters and her husband Steve, Jason Johnson and his wife Susan, Erin Hume and her husband Mark, Tara Hopkins and her husband Chris, and Natasha Johnson; as well as eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lowell "Clay" Milburn Johnson; five brothers, Hayes Hibbitts, Jack Hibbitts, W.L. Hibbitts, Jr., Richard Hibbitts, and Bobby Race Hibbitts; and two sisters, Betty Carty and Bernice Dodson.
