Lloyd was born to his late parents Charles and Sarah Ferkinsen Pitts on February 22, 1918. He began his life as a native of Jetmore Kansas. Lloyd served our country in World War II as a Staff Sergeant of the Unites States Army in the first Battalion 103rd Infantry from March 23, 1942 to October 20, 1945. He received numerous medals for his service. In his 96 years Lloyd's faith remained constant as he and his late wife Geraldine Kathleen Shanlow Pitts were seen consistently in the front row of St. Jules Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Lloyd was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His kind presence, work ethic, and smile have left a lasting impression on everybody who has had the pleasure of coming in contact with him. In addition to his parents and wife, Lloyd was preceded in death by three brothers Roy, Carl, and Leo Pitts. Lloyd is survived by his two daughters, Janette P. Coe and her husband Edward and Susan P. Lorenzo and her husband Ricky; three brothers, Orin Pitts and his wife Verna, Forest Pitts and his wife Betty, and Charles Pitts; one sister, Cleo Pitts Mills and her husband Gene; five grandchildren, Michale Coe and his wife Brenda, Rebecca Coe, Mia L. Vaccarella and her husband Jamon, Stephanie L. Fitch and her husband Zach, and Alison Lorenzo; six great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that you please consider making memorial contributions in Mr. Lloyd's name to Heart of Hospice, 14777 Hwy 90 W Frontage Rd, Franklin, LA A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held, Monday, November 3, 2014, at 1:00 PM at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin, with Fr. Thomas Vu officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
