Carol A. Williamson, 67, of Houston passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Carol was born on September 4, 1947 in Teague, Texas to A.C. and Dorothy Williamson. Carol was raised in Baldwin, Louisiana. She attended college at University of Southwest Louisiana (now UL). She was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She moved to Houston in 1968. 
Carol was employed by Kirby Corporation as the Kirby Inland Marine Contracts Managers who dedicated well over 30 years of service to Kirby, and before that, Hollywood Marine.

Carol was a member and officer of the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Houston. She was a life member of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association. She was a member of the Houston Kennel Club and served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club. Carol was also a member of the Fort Bend Kennel Club.

Carol is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Camelia and Robert Soprano, of Franklin, Louisiana and her brother and sister-in-law, Asa and Sheila Williamson, of Pineville, Louisiana and a niece, Annalee Williamson and nephews, Danny Williamson and Tim Williamson and family. She is preceded in death by both her mother and father. Carol will be missed by her Kirby and Canine Club friends and family. Faith and Mandy will miss you.

The Williamson family received friends Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service celebrating Carol's life was held Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77079. A reception followed the service in Friendship Court on the church grounds. 

A graveside service will be held in Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, Louisiana on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
