Blair "Doc", a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather died at his residence in Morgan City, La. on November 16, 2014. He was 82 years old. He was a native of Brewton, Alabama and a resident of Morgan City, La. for the past 53 years. Dr. Blair served in the U.S. Army National Guard in Brewton, Alabama before moving to Indianapolis, Indiana to further his education. Dr. Blair graduated from Bebout Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Indiana and relocated to Louisiana upon his graduation. Dr. Blair came to Morgan City, La. in 1961 where he and his late wife, Betty L. Blair founded "Blair Chiropractic Clinic". He was one of the early pioneers and instrumental in securing Chiropractic licensing in the State of Louisiana. Dr. Blair was licensed in the state of Kentucky and received the tenth license issued by the State of Louisiana. He served many years, including past President of the State of Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He was also a member of the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana, American Chiropractic Association, Louisiana Chiropractic Society, and the Louisiana Union of Chiropractic Physicians. He was a member of Doric Lodge #205 F. &A.M of Morgan City, La. and the Baton Rouge Scottish Rite Consistory in Baton Rouge, La. Dr. Blair was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Blair; his father, David L. Blair; his mother Callie C. Blair; his son, David L. Blair; his grandson, Christopher P. Blair; his brothers, Ernest Blair, Elbert Blair, Leonard Blair and Millard Blair; his sisters, Agnes Jackson, Ethel Wilson, and Ella Rackard. He is survived by Dr. L. Rene Dunlap and husband Ricky Dunlap of Morgan City, La; Captain James F. Blair and wife Heather R. Blair of Morgan City, La.; Kenneth L. Blair and wife Elaine Blair of Morgan City, La.; Linda S. Shifflett and husband Kevin Shifflett of Baton Rouge, La; Gina M. Charpentier and husband, Lloyd Charpentier of Spring, Texas. His surviving 11 grandchildren include Lauren A. Blair, Lindsay M. Blair, Austin J. Blair, Andrew D. Dunlap, Alex M. Dunlap, Jennifer D. Blair, Samantha Shifflett, Joseph Shifflett, Kevin Shifflett, Haily Charpentier, and Grant Charpentier along with nine great-grandchildren. Visitation at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City will be on Tuesday, November 18th, 2014 from 6:00pm until 10:00 pm with a Masonic Memorial Service to be conducted by Doric Lodge #205 at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Pallbearers to serve are Ricky Dunlap, Andrew Dunlap, Alex Dunlap, Austin Blair, David Blair, Greg Allen, John Ross, and Dr. C. E. "Buddy" Moran. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
