Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1411.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services celebrating the life of Phyac "PJ" Broussard will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. He will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the East St. Mary Veteran's Funeral Squad. Father Herb Bennerfield will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visiting will resume Wednesday at the church at 8:00 AM and continue until time of Mass. Mr. PJ was a native of Abbeville and a resident of Patterson for the past 58 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in France during the Korean War, and worked for 35 years for Halliburton, retiring in 1986. He passed away at his home on Monday, November 24, 2014, his 81st birthday. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Georgette "Jo" Remy Broussard; three children, Jessie B. Dutreix and her husband Conley, Jackie B. LaBruyere and her husband David, and Nathan P. Broussard and his wife Leslie; two sisters, Jane Fields and Ella Mae Brown; eight grandchildren, Nicole and Evan St. Romain, Shawn and Cami LaBruyere, Ashley Broussard, Kirstie Morgan, and Brandon and Magan Gaudet; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jody Broussard; his parents, Octave and Anita Suire Broussard; two brothers, Ray and Newby Broussard, Sr.; one grandson, Carl J. Broussard; and one nephew, Newby Broussard, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan P. Broussard, Conley Dutreix, David LaBruyere, Kevin Vinning, Evan St. Romain, and Shawn LaBruyere.
