Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1411.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== John Richard Elliott, Sr., 64, a resident of Morgan City, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, November 10, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born September 27, 1950, in Morgan City, the son of the late Frank Fairchild and Leola Eva Elliott. On July 12, 1969, he married the love of his life, Virginia Ann Sons Elliott, and they were privileged to share 45 wonderful years together. Visitation will be at Lighthouse Community Church, Berwick, LA on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. resuming Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. A Home Going Celebration will be at 1 p.m. officiated by Reverend Christopher Steele of Baton Rouge. John will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Mr. Elliott was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time, he would spend hours creating beautiful cypress woodwork items for his family and friends. Mr. Elliott also enjoyed spending time singing gospel songs at home for his family and as part of his ministry in church. If anyone really spent any time with him, they could tell hours of stories of his frequent pranks and jokes. His fun-loving attitude and personality will definitely be missed by friends and family alike. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Sons Elliott of Morgan City; one son, Glen Anthony Elliott and his wife, Loretta, of Bayou Vista; four grandchildren, Brittanie Elliott Faulk and her husband, Jonathan , of Bayou Vista, Kristin Elliott Steele, and her husband, Reverend Christopher Aaron Steele, of Baton Rouge, Daniel Michael Elliott of Bayou Vista, and Jazlyn Grayce Elliott of Bayou Vista; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Gabriel, Katerra Nicole, and Karaline Michelle Faulk of Bayou Vista, and Emma Grayce Steele of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Betty Lou Elliott, Penny Rae Blanchard, and Eulah Lee Percle; three brothers, Frank Price Elliott, Sr., David Joseph Elliott, Sr., and Garry Wade Elliott, Sr. and his loving dog, Chloe. He was looking forward to his newest great-grandchild, Baby Steele, who will arrive in the spring 2015. He is preceded in death by his son, John Richard Elliott, Jr.; his parents, Frank and Leola Elliott; three brothers, Henry James Elliott, Charles Edward Elliott, and Thomas Daniel Elliott, Sr.; and one sister, Mary Leola Lajaunie. Pallbearers include Frank P. Elliott, Sr., David J. Elliott, Sr., Garry W. Elliott, Sr., Mathew P. Delahoussaye, Sr., Mathew P. Delahoussaye, Jr., Jonathan P. Faulk, Anthony P. Bergeron, Brandon J.
