Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at a 2:00 PM Mass 
of Christian burial at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Mary 
Charpentier Jones, 83, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin who passed 
away on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a 
lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. 

She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. 
Father Lloyd Benoit will be the celebrant for the Mass and will conduct the 
services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary 
from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visiting 
hours will resume Thursday at Ibert's at 11:00 AM until time of dismissal 
prayers at 1:30 PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be three of her sons, Sam, Michael, and David 
Jones, her two grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan Jones, and her godchild Sterling 
"Buster" Charpentier III. Honorary pallbearers will be her son Monty Jones, and 
Ashby Charpentier, Mark "Sonny" Charpentier, George Stephens Jr., and Charles 
Ewing.

Survivors include four sons, former Mayor of Franklin and current State Rep. 
Sam Jones and his wife Toni of Franklin, Monty Jones of Las Cruces, NM, Michael 
K. Jones and his wife Wendy of Franklin, and David J. Jones and his fiancée 
Tracy of Franklin; four grandchildren, Joshua Jones of Franklin, Kristin 
Broussard of Groves, TX, Jonathan Jones and his wife Kristan of Charenton, and 
Allison Jones of Franklin; two great grandchildren, Hayden Burrow of Groves, TX 
and Cooper Jones of Charenton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other 
extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling P. Charpentier, Sr. and 
Rosalie Ferrera Charpentier; two sisters, Mary Charpentier (infant) and Vivian 
C. Stephens; and two brothers, Sterling P. Charpentier, Jr. and Wilton "Minoo" 
Charpentier.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
