Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1412.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Alvin Bernard, 79, born in Arnaudville passed away Wednesday December 3, 2014 at his home in Bunkie surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy battle with cancer. Alvin will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor and his natural ability to fix, invent or improve anything he set his mind to. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered always. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Martha Verrett Bernard; three daughters, Julie and her husband Murphy LaCoste Jr., Angie and husband Kenneth Anderson, and Sally and husband Jimmie Guidry; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Verna Mae and her husband Louis Cheek; numerous nieces and nephews. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Simon Bernard and Lydia Comeaux; one brother, Elton Joseph Bernard. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home with a visitation being held from 10 :00 a.m. until the time of the services.
