Hovis age 80 of Patterson, Louisiana ( former 72 year resident of Shoals, Indiana ) passed away on the morning of December 20, 2014 at her home. She was born on June 3, 1934 to Leland and Edith Grace (Ray) Grissom. A life time caretaker, homemaker and also known by many as the 'the babysitter' because of the many, many children that she cared for and nurtured for working parents. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Shoals, Indiana. Married to Paul Hovis, who proceeded her in death on November 18, 1994, she was a devoted wife of 45 years and loving mother to children John Hovis of Mitchell, Indiana and his wife Debbie, Jim Hovis of Shoals, Indiana, David Hovis (deceased), Patricia Brantley (deceased) and her husband Dan of Eustis, Florida, Brenda White and her husband Dallas of Spencer, Indiana and Karen Hovis of Louisiana and was blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also proceeded in death by brother Eddie Grissom and sisters Delema Taylor, Leluah Moffitt and Loretta Mowery. A private service will be held in Louisiana followed by her final flight home for a pending service and burial at Hickory Ridge in Indiana. ===================
