DONTAY, LEONARD, JR.
(February 22, 1952 - January 9, 2015)

Leonard Dontay Jr., 62, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Friday, January 
9, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Leonard was born on February 22, 1952 in Morgan City the son of Leonard Dontay 
Sr. and Adeline Lodrigue Dontay.

Leonard was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a 
commercial fisherman by trade. He was a loyal friend to many and considered 
everyone family as Leonard was one to never meet a stranger. He loved his 
family and loved spending time with them.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by six children, Shelby Dontay 
of Prairieville, Leonard Aucoin of Berwick, Dustin Dontay of Amelia, Kevin 
Dontay of Baton Rouge, Pamela Aucoin of Berwick and Scott Aucoin of Shriever; 
13 grandchildren, Austin Aucoin, Alexis Aucoin, Brody Dontay, Jayden Aucoin, 
Kaine Dontay, Rory Dontay, Allison Cook, Steve Champagne, Alyssa Aucoin, Trevor 
Champagne, Marissa Champagne, Amanda Sherman and Meagan Richard; three great 
grandchildren, Thomas Phillips, Emma Philips, and Rosemary Sherman; two 
sisters, Linda Dontay and Natalie Duay both of Bayou Vista; two brothers, 
Darrel Dontay of Bayou Vista, Cary Dontay of San Francisco, California; brother 
at heart, Otis "O.T." McClendon.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Dontay Sr. and Adeline 
Lodrigue Dontay; one brother, Faron Dontay.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
