Nicks will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson. He will be laid to rest in Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Randy Plessala of PromiseLand Fellowship will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's from 10:00 AM until time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Wallace Ackman Jr., Larry Bolden, Matthew Vicknair, Dean Pinder, Joshua Pinder, and Jacob Pinder. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Bosarge, Kevin Morgan, Jesse Couvillier, Jr., and Lonnie Ribardi. William was a native of Morgan City and a resident of Ricohoc who passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at his home surrounded by family following a lengthy and courageous eight year battle with cancer. In his earlier years he worked in the oil industry as a driller for Diamond M Drilling. In addition to his family, his passions in life were hunting and fishing. Last, but certainly not least, he enjoyed taking care of his best friend, his pet Chihuahua, T' Shay. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Warden Nicks; six children, Linda Lee Lopez and her husband Lynn, Johnny Ray Miller, Peggy Sue Pinder and her husband Dean, Robert Anthony Miller, Rhea Bosarge and her husband Bo, and Tammy Marie Miller; one sister, Aline N. Shinn; grandchildren, Dawn Marie, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, Chantelle and Adam; one nephew, Robert B. Shinn and his wife Tess; and numerous cousins and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents William C. Nicks and Violet Couvillier Nicks; one nephew, Brent Shinn; and one niece, Kathy Shinn.
