Brown will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest with Law Enforcement Honors in the Franklin Cemetery. Bro. Blaise Smith will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with Masonic Services held at 7:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume Thursday at 9:00 AM and continue until time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl J. Brown, Jr., Trei Mayer, Edmond Picard, Randy Burgess, Conley Pellerin, Jerry Biddick, and Carroll Albert. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Baudoin, Nick Kelehan, Roland Gunner, Mike McDonald, and Wayne Lewis. Troy was a native of Lafayette and a longtime resident of Verdunville. He was retired from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, having devoted 31 years of faithful and dedicated service. His passions in life were his family and friends, hunting, fishing, gardening, and raising his chickens and rabbits. Troy passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 on Sunday, February 1, 2015, in Morgan City, shortly after helping a stranger fix a flat tire. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Survivors include his daughter, Olivia Rae Brown of Broussard; his mother, JoAnn B. Louviere and her husband Harold "Neg" Louviere of Franklin; three siblings, Carl J. Brown, Jr. and his wife Arliah Brown, Stacey B. Baudoin and her husband Darrell Baudoin of New Iberia, and Valerie B. Mayer and her husband Trei Mayer of Broussard; his fiancé, Chenette Iverson of Franklin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Carl J. Brown, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Phillip and Clara Brown; and his maternal grandparents, John and Yvonne Bodin.
