Robicheaux will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin. Fr. Billy Ruskoski will be the celebrant for the Mass, with Fr. Lloyd Benoit concelebrating. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at Ibert's Mortuary beginning at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the Church of the Assumption on Tuesday at 9:00 AM until time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Martin, Clint Martin, Justin Martin, Mark Anslum, Louis Caro, and Roddy Barrilleaux. Donald was a native of Foster, LA and a longtime resident of Franklin. He was a graduate of the 1944 Class of Franklin High School. Following graduation and at the age of 16, Donald began a 42 year career with the US Postal Service in Franklin. He worked seven years as a substitute carrier, 20 years as a window clerk, five years as supervisor, and ten years as Post Master. Donald was also a member of the Church of the Assumption, where in his earlier years he sang in the choir, was a church council member, a trustee, and was part of various other church committees. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1420 in Franklin, as well as a member of the Franklin Lion's Club, which he was selected as "Outstanding Lion of the Year" in 1982 and 1984, and received a Presidential Award for outstanding service and dedication in 1987. Some of Donald's favorite pastimes were music, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of nine and a half years, Jane Hebert Robicheaux; his daughter, Abbie Robicheaux Martin and her husband Eddie; two grandsons, Clint Martin and his wife Gabrielle and Justin Martin and his wife Chassidy; one great granddaughter, Alyse Catherine Martin; four step-sons, Richard Hebert and his wife Geri, Roger Hebert and his wife Elaine, Randell Hebert, and Russell Hebert and his wife Schalacey; as well as eight step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Boudreaux Robicheaux; his parents, Edward J. Robicheaux and Isabel Barrilleaux Robicheaux McCreary; a step-daughter, Phyllis Hebert; and a step-grandson, Leighton Theriot.
