Funeral services for Isaac A. "Zeke" Theriot will be held Saturday, February 7, 
2015, at Ibert's Mortuary at 3:00 PM, with a gathering of family and friends 
beginning at 10:00 AM. 

He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Franklin Cemetery. 
Chaplain Bryan Johnson, of Heart of Hospice, will conduct the services.

Mr. Zeke was a native of Bayou Sale and a longtime resident of Franklin. He 
passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 2, 2015, at the age of 
88. He will be deeply missed by his family and fondly remembered by all who 
knew him.

Zeke had a love of music from an early age, serving as Drum Major in high 
school. He then went on to enlist in the United States Navy, having served in 
battle during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and the Philippine 
Liberation. 
Following his service in the Navy, he returned home and continued his love of 
music, playing in numerous local big bands. 
On Dec. 26, 1947 he married the love of his life, Billie Jean Terry, and began 
building their family. With the help of his father-in-law, Zeke began his 
career in the oil field, going to work for Standard Oil (then Humble Oil, now 
Exxon) on a steam drilling rig. This began a 36 year career in the oil 
industry, retiring as an Offshore Construction Supervisor.

Survivors include his sons, Randy Gene Broussard and his wife Deborah Broussard 
of Tulsa, OK, Michael A. Theriot and his wife Pattie Theriot of Lafayette, and 
Thomas A. Theriot, Sr. and his wife Lesha Theriot of Franklin; seven 
grandchildren, David Broussard, Rachel Broussard, Lyndsey Broussard, Stephen 
Theriot, Stephanie Rose, Thomas A. Theriot, Jr., and Scott E. Theriot; 11 great 
grandchildren; as well as six nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Billie Jean Terry Theriot; 
one son, Jimmy D. "Lil Zeke" Theriot; his parents, Armand Joseph Theriot and 
May Mayard Theriot; one brother, Murphy Theriot; and one sister, Ella Mae 
Abeyta.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
