She will be laid to rest in the Chitimacha Mausoleum in Charenton. The Rev. Donnie Crane of the Crossing Place Fellowship will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service. Teala, a native and resident of Charenton, was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and granddaughter. She enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her family. She went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 33 on Sunday, March 15, 2015. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her two daughters, Rachelle Haire and Kyrah Balthazar; her mother, Dawn Bernard Meche and her husband, Carl; her father, Mitchell Preston Schexnaider; five siblings, Needron Bernard, Jolby Schexnaider; Brittany Segura and her husband, Jason; Philbert Schexnaider, and Jade Schexnaider; her grandmother, Irene Ladnier; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James B. “Chief’ Bernard; her maternal step grandfather, Huey Ladnier; her paternal grandmother and step grandfather, Gernice Marshall and her husband, Evon; and her paternal grandfather, Presley James Schexnaider. Serving as pallbearers will be Mitchell Preston Schexnaider, Jolby Schexnaider, Philbert Schexnaider, Doug Lormand, Kerris Balthazar, and Brent Burgess. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help alleviate funeral expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
