Funeral services for Gwendolyn Couvillier Blanchard will be held Friday, March 
27, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton. Rev. Dr. Chris 
Holloway and Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate the service. A gathering of 
family and friends will be held Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until time 
of service.

Gwen was born on February 13, 1958 in Franklin at the old St. Anne's Hospital 
and was raised at Myette Point until the community was moved to the outskirts 
of Franklin, where she has resided ever since. She passed away at the age of 57 
early Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at her home following a courageous 
battle with cancer.

Survivors include her three children, Jacob Zirlott and his wife Tanya, Clayton 
Johnson and his wife Alishia, and Jessica Darby and her husband Richard; her 
father, Edward Couvillier; four siblings, Justin Couvillier and his wife Maddy, 
Larry Couvillier and his wife Ann, Bonita Newsom and her husband Danny, and 
Kevin "Catfish" Couvillier; eight grandchildren, Lilly Darby, Noah Zirlott, 
Baylee Darby, Leela Darby, James Hill, Gunell Hill, Christena Hill, and Tristan 
Sonnier; three god-children, Danell Daigle, Lil Joe Sanders, and Caitlin 
Boiteaux; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Mae Bailey Couvillier; her 
maternal grandparents, Albert and Agnes Sauce Bailey; and her paternal 
grandparents, Albert and Ella Sanders Couvillier.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Zirlott, Clayton Johnson, Justin 
Couvillier, Larry Couvillier, Kevin Couvillier, Chad Daigle, Sage Daigle, and 
Dana "Fats" Lange.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making donations 
to help defray final expenses.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
