Vernon worked as an accountant, earning his CPA license in the mid-80's, and retired from Picker International in 2000. He enjoyed boating in his younger years, yard work, reading (especially about astronomy), playing chess, classical music and preparing family members tax returns. He was beyond gracious and although no one asked for anything he gave selflessly. He is survived by his mother, Esther McGee of Brooksville Florida; daughter, Shane and her husband Scott of Northfield Center; nephews, Daniel Denker and his wife Christina of Brooksville, Florida and Richard Denker and his wife Molly with grandniece Annie of Hernando Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Jane Coleman of Bossier City; and countless loving members of his Louisiana family. Austin also has many wonderful family members in Virginia, North Carolina and California. He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Sr. and his wife Elaine Simoneaux McGee; and his sister, Anita Denker. A graveside service for Vernon will be observed Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at 3pm at the Franklin Cemetery, with Fr. Lloyd Benoit conducting the service. The family would especially like to thank his neighbors in Chardon for their continuous support and concern. Special thanks go to the Sagues' and Lamberts'. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA ===================
