Romaire, Sr., for over 70 years, passed away on May 17, 2015. Born July 31, 1925 in Morgan City, La., she was the third and youngest daughter of Eli Joseph and Luda Mire Fields. A devoted Catholic and member of Sacred Heart Church, Marian was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She graduated Salutatorian of her class from Sacred Heart Academy and attended the University of Lafayette in Louisiana (formerly Southwest Louisiana Institute). Upon retiring from teaching at Sacred Heart Elementary School, she continued in the Catholic school system as a secretary at Central Catholic High School. Marian, along with her husband, Richard, and three children are the owners of E. J. Fields Machine Works, Inc. She was an avid bridge player, a longtime member of the Krewe of Galatea, and a devotee of all things fun. She was the Matriarch and “Queen” of the Romaire family who will be forever missed. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Luda Fields, her two sisters, Virginia Fields Fangue and Katherine Fields Michel and a great grandchild, Adam Pecoraro. She is survived in loving memory by her husband, Richard L. Romaire Sr., three children: Bonnie Jean Chaplain and her husband, Lucky, of Madison, MS, Ricky Romaire and his spouse, Lynn, of Morgan City, and Eli Joseph Romaire and his partner, William Cruse, of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chris Chaplain and his wife, Laurie, John Chaplain, Tracey Romaire Scarbrough and her husband, John, Nicky Romaire Pecoraro and her husband, Grant, Luke Romaire, Brandy Parker and her husband, Richard, and Matthew Tycer and his wife, Karen and nine great grandchildren: Cooper, Noah, Courtney, Miles, Grace, Dominic, Ethan, Sofi and William. Services will be conducted at Sacred Heart Church on May 19, 2015. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Morgan City Cemetery ===================
