Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1506.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Richard "Dickie" Darce will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Gregory Cormier will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services, with Deacon Harry Darce assisting. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM led by Deacon Harry Darce. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, Dickie, as he was affectionately known, was a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin. He passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Dickie proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting in 1961 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1964, with the rank of Sergeant. He began working for Exxon in 1973 and retired in 1996 after 23 years of dedicated service. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing, as well as visiting with friends at the "Breakfast Club" at McDonald's in Franklin, but his passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he lovingly referred to as his little angels. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sherry Broussard Darce; his sons, David Darce and his wife Michelle, Eric Darce, and Steven Darce and his wife Jenny; four grandchildren, Lexie, Madison, Noah, and Hailey Darce; his brother, Harry Darce and his wife Gerry; sisters-in-law, Linda Darce and Yvonne Broussard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard J. Darce and Mabel Boudreaux Darce; his brother, Thomas "Tommy" Darce; his father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Lucille Broussard; his brothers-in-law, Gerald and Danny Broussard; his sister-in-law, Joyce Boudreaux; and his beloved dog, Max. Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, David, Eric, and Steven Darce, and friends, Louis Faucheux, Monty Verret, Dale Rogers, Wayne Stevens, Ray Treadway, and Mike Aguzin.
