Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1506.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial for Gerard Michael "Jerry" Lipari will be celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. He will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Angelo Cremaldi will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at the church from 10:30 AM until time of Mass, with the rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM. Jerry, as he was affectionately known, was born in Morgan City on New Year's Day, 1954 to the late Mike Peter Lipari and the late Lucy Agnes Listi Lipari. He was raised in Patterson and in his early years worked in home construction, building many homes in the Patterson area. He was a longtime executive for Boy Scouts of America, Evangeline Area Council and in his later years was a professional poker player. He passed away at the age of 61 on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Lisa Kay Laws Lipari; two children, Lieutenant Colonel Ben Lipari and his wife Melissa, and C. Maria Lipari-Hardy and her companion Eric Forsythe, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Eric III, Montana, Christopher, Dominik, Noah, Ruby, and Joseph; his siblings, Peter Michael Lipari, Leona "Lee" L. Lee, Mary Antoinette L. Guarisco, F. Elizabeth "Liz" L. Prestenbach, Judy Ann L. Keegan; his mother-in-law, Verdie Laws; his father-in- law, Delbert Laws; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters, Diane L. Cheramie and Josephine Lipari (infant); and his nephew, Tony Resignola. Serving as pallbearers will be Lieutenant Colonel Ben Lipari, Christopher Hardy, Dominik Lipari, Peter Keegan, Harris LaGrange, Neal Laws, Eric Forsythe, Jr., Eric Forsythe III, and Edward Hardy.
