She will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum. Fr. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant for the Mass. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM, led by Fr. Gregory Cormier. Visitation will resume Friday at Immaculate Conception Church at 12:00 PM and continue until time of Mass. Jenny, as she was affectionately known, was born on November 20, 1928 in Charenton to the late Frank and Genevieve Verret Viguerie, where she spent her childhood years. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, June 1, 2015, at her home. Following graduation from Franklin High School in 1945, Jenny worked for a short time for the telephone company. On October 10, 1948 she married the love of her life, Ferdinand Petitfils and the two moved to Mississippi. After a short stay they moved back to South Louisiana and settled in Baldwin where they started their family and have resided ever since. Jenny also helped her husband run the family business in Baldwin, Petitfils Hardware Store, where she was instrumental in keeping things running smooth. She could help customers with whatever they were looking for, even if they didn't know themselves. Later in life some of her favorite pastimes were reading and sewing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Ferdinand "Fetch" Petitfils; her children, Marsha Petitfils Colley and Michael Petitfils; her grandchildren, Thomas Colley and wife Michele, Marcie Boudreaux and husband David, Dylan Petitfils, and Caitlin Petitfils; her great-grandchildren, Buddy Boudreaux, Rosemarie Colley, Jack Colley, and Brynne Colley; and her sister Wanda Viguerie Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Petitfils; as well as three brothers, Roland, Francis, and Curtis Viguerie. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Petitfils, Thomas Colley, Dylan Petitfils, David Boudreaux, Buddy Boudreaux, and Ronald Durocher. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Colley.
