Lynel Blackburn, age 37, a resident of Morgan City, LA passed away on Wednesday July 29, 2015 in Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be observed on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Nazarene Baptist Church Highway 182 Franklin (Verdunville), LA from 11:00 AM until funeral services at 1:00 PM, with Reverend Henry Harris, Officiating. Burial will follow services in the Nazarene Church Cemetery in Franklin (Verdunville), LA. Memories of "Kodie G." as he was known to many , will forever be cherished in the heart of his loving mother, Geraldine Blackburn of Franklin, LA; five sons, Lawrence Hunter of Lafayette, LA, Na'jay Blackburn, Davidyione Bias, Da'Mondrick Blackburn, and Daylon Blackburn all of Morgan City, LA; three daughters, Laurielle Bias, Zyrielle Bias and Irielle Bias all of Morgan City, LA; three brothers, Billy Blackburn of Lafayette, LA, Jeremy Blackburn of Baton Rouge, LA and Leo Mingo, Jr. of Patterson, LA; three sisters, Ruby Blackburn and Christine Blackburn of Baton Rouge, LA and Antoinette Blackburn-Jackson of Germany as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Lawrence was preceded in by his father, Leo Mingo; one brother, Michael Mingo; a nephew, Lil' Michael Mingo; two uncles, Lawrence Mingo and Merrit Mingo and his paternal and maternal grandparents, Elgin and Rose Mingo and Bennie Blackburn.
