Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1507.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services for Charles Preston McDonald will be held Monday, August 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday at Ibert's from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 5:00 PM, led by Fr. Benoit. Visiting hours will resume Monday at Ibert's at 9:00 AM and continue until time of service. Charles was born on September 18, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Preston McDonald and the late Maria Gagliano McDonald. He was avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Charles was also a man who loved his family above all. Those that knew him knew that he also loved his wife's cooking. He passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015, in New Iberia at Iberia Extended Care Hospital following a long and hard battle with cancer and heart disease. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mayola "May" Fryou McDonald; two sons, David Charles McDonald and Preston Charles McDonald and his wife Jessica; two granddaughters, Kristi Boudreaux and Macy McDonald; one great granddaughter, Jolie Boudreaux; one brother, Michael J. McDonald and his wife Julie; one sister-in-law, Pam McDonald; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Coach Mac" McDonald.
