Marvin James Young, Sr., age 72, a resident of Morgan City (Siracusa), LA and a 
native of New Orleans, LA, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 at 4:34 PM at 
his residence in Morgan City (Siracusa), LA.

Visitation will be observed Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist 
Church 113 Federal Avenue Morgan City, LA from 9:00 AM until funeral services 
at 11:00 AM. Reverend Ivy Wilson, Jr., will officiate the services. 

Burial will follow services in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of fifty-one years, 
Martha D. Young of Morgan City (Siracusa), LA; two sons, Marvin James Young, 
Jr. (Kimberly) of Brentwood, TN and Merrick Young (Luria) of Zachary, LA; one 
daughter, Marlice Young-Dugas (Jonathan) of Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Ina F. 
O'Brien of Lafayette, LA and Linda Granger of Youngsville, LA; twelve 
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other 
relatives and friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Young, Sr. and Melvina 
Bates-Young,a brother, Joseph Young, Jr.; a sister Yvette May; his mother-in-
law, Lillie Lymon and his father-in-law, Clarence Dardar.
