Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1507.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Calvin Lynn Banks, age 58, a resident of Newark, NJ and native of Franklin, LA was born November 2,1956 and passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 2:48 PM at Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ. Visitation will be observed on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street in Franklin, LA., from 1:00 PM until funeral services at 3:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow funeral services in the Franklin Cemetery - Main Street in Franklin, LA. Calvin was a veteran of the United States Army. After his years of service, he lived in New York City and Houston Texas where he successfully owned an operated the taxi service that he loved so much. Calvin enjoyed meeting and conversing with people. He spent his life building a great career that was a perfect fit for his lively personality. His boisterous sense of humor filled everyone he encountered with rounds of laughter. Those left to cherish wonderful memories of Calvin are his three brothers, Damond Banks Jr., Micheal Bowles and Darrell Juan Washington Sr. all of Houston, TX; four sisters, Patricia Weber of Franklin , LA, Gloria Stevens, Debra Jackson and Carliss Guy-Landry all of New Iberia LA; nieces and nephews; Rodney Chatman and Toni Spain both of Franklin LA, Daphne Thomas and Charlotte Johnson both of New Iberia LA, Bernadette Davis-Wells of Slidell, LA; Damece Christina Banks of Savannah GA, Damona Banks-Barnes of Baton Rouge,LA and Crystal Yvette Banks and Derrick Lamont Robinson of New York, NY, Quentin Jackson of Houston, TX, Donald Guy, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN, Darius Holland Norfolk,VA, Darrell Juan Washington Jr. of Indianapolis,IN, Bradley Stevenson of Charenton, LA, and Katlane Bowles New York, NYand a host of great nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Damon Banks Sr.,Ora Mae Washington Bowles and three sisters Dorothy Fay Banks, Elouise Banks, and JoAnn Banks; his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Elouise "Ella" Washington and his paternal grandparents, James Banks, Sr. and Ida Yeggins.
