Tris Evans Matthews, age 48, a resident of Morgan City, LA passed away 
peacefully on August 30, 2015 at 8:10 AM at his parents residence in Morgan 
City, LA.

Visitation will be observed on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the New Zorah 
Baptist Church 604 Julia Street Morgan City, LA, from 9:00 AM until funeral 
services at 2:00 PM. Reverend Terry L. Joseph, Sr. will officiate the services. 

Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Tris leaves to cherish wonderful memories; three sons, Lazurus Madison and 
Dayton Madison both of Jeanerette, LA and Tris Madison of Franklin, LA; one 
daughter, Tristine Madison of Jeanerette, LA; his loving and devoted parents, 
Timothy Matthews, Sr. and Joyce Harris-Matthews of Morgan City, LA; five 
brothers, Timothy Matthews, Jr. and Kerry Matthews both of Morgan City, LA, 
Donald Matthews of Phoenix, AL, Daniel Matthews (Latoya) of New Orleans, LA and 
John Matthews (Precious) of Berwick, LA; one sister, Terri Matthews-Foulcard  
(Eugene) of Franklin, LA; five grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, 
nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, the late Rev. John 
(Marina) Harris and paternal grandparents, Percy (Ethel Lee) Matthews and one 
brother, Troy Wade Matthews.
