Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1507.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2015, during a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville for Robert C. May Jr., 88, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Ruben Primor will officiate the Mass and conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at St. Joseph from 10:30 AM until time of Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be his nine grandsons. Mr. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was a professional blacksmith and iron worker, retiring from St. Mary Ironworks after many years of dedicated service. His ironwork can be seen all over our local communities. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Joyce Dupre May; six children, Robert C. May III and his wife Jennifer, Davey P. May and his wife Patricia, Susan May Stansbury and her husband Brian, Debbie May Lancon and her husband Timothy, Jeanne May LeBlanc and her husband Glenn, and Betty May Marquette and her husband Mike; 13 grandchildren, Sarah May Schiel and her husband Mark, Robert C. May IV, Davey P. May Jr., Billy J. May and his wife Claire, Joshua T. May, Katie A. Stansbury, Kristi L. Stansbury, Scott J. Lancon and his wife Thuy, Eric M. Lancon and his wife Devan, Brandon J. LeBlanc, Adam J. LeBlanc, Courtney Marquette Dupre and her husband Adam, Marcel L. Marquette IV; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Marie Dupre Hebert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. May and Annette Pontiff May; four brothers, William, Taylor, John, and Riley May; and four sisters, Edith Boudreaux, Irene Burke Hebert, Esther Dupre, and Rita Dupre.
