Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1507.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services celebrating the life of Nina Gibbs Nolen will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Bayou Vista Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery in Patterson. Rev. Steve Kelly and Rev. Charles Gilder will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Bayou Vista Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until time of service. Ms. Nina was born on March 5, 1926 in Bowden, Georgia to the late Bill Dewey Gibbs and the late Jewel Violet Craft Gibbs. She was a loving, devoted, and incredible mother and grandmother who practiced unconditional love. She enjoyed driving her trucks, and sewing for her children and grandchildren, anything from bibs to wedding dresses. She was most proud of her hand-made baby blankets which she made, starting with her first grandchildren in 1968, for family and friends, which have been since been taken all over the world. She was also a member of Bayou Vista Baptist Church since 1967. She passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Survivors include her seven children, Joyce Anne Edmondson, Ralph Norman Nolen Jr. and wife Lisa, Carolyn Chris Rodrigue and husband Lindsey, Tommy Ray Nolen and wife Jodie, Margie Nolen Minix and husband Philip, Nola Faye Bowers and husband Bruce, and Virginia Ruth Kirkpatrick and husband Tommy; one brother, Tommy Bill Gibbs and wife Kay; 97 grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
