Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1507.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services celebrating the life of Hazel Burke Pontiff Tardiff will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Fr. Cedric Sonnier will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Ms. Hazel, a native and former longtime resident of Franklin, was born on September 22, 1919 to the late Joseph Burke and the late Lydia Pichoff Burke. She passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at her home in Lafayette. Survivors include her two daughters, Trudy Chauvin and her husband Donald, and Delores Martin; her sister, Rita B. Lanclos; 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilson D. Pontiff; her second husband, Rene L. Tardiff; her son, Denis Paul Pontiff; four brothers, Dewey, Preston, Curtis and Berlyn Burke; two sisters, Ruth B. Theriot and Ruby B. Martin; a son-in-law, Darrell J. Martin, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Myra "Ginger" Blanco Pontiff; and two grandchildren, Derek Pontiff and Wendy P. Stoneking. Serving as pallbearers will be Frankie David Mach Jr., Carroll Trahan, Lance Hardin, Donald J. Chauvin Jr., Todd M. Chauvin, and Mark A. Chauvin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Thibodeaux, John Atkinson, Matthew Phillips, and Donald J. Chauvin III.
