Born on December 23, 1913 in Morgan City, Louisiana, Mike lived most of his life in Harahan and the past 37 years in River Ridge, Louisiana. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Elsie "Jake" Randall Bigler and his parents, Arthur Filmore and Julia Senac Bigler. Mike is survived by his sons Arthur "Mike" E. Bigler Jr. and wife Jackie, Randall G. "Noosie" Bigler and wife Gail; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was a graduate of Morgan City High School and LSU. As an Electrical Engineer, Mike spent most of his working career with Louisiana Power and Light Co. A veteran of WWII, Mike served his country as an Army Engineer in China, India and Burma, being honorably discharged in 1945 at the rank of Captain. Mike's family wishes to offer their sincere appreciation and thanks to the caregivers at St. Joseph Nursing Home and Rehabilitation of Harahan and St. Catherine's Hospice of Laplace for the comfort and care provided to him during his last several months. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will follow the funeral service in the Morgan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Mike's name. US Army ===================
