Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1509.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held on October 2 at 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City for Wanda Barbier McClelland, 79, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City. Wanda passed away in the early morning surounded by her three surviving children and her husband. Interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. A devoted and dedicated mother and wife, Wanda is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Robert (Bob) McClelland, Jr. of Morgan City, her oldest son, Robert McClelland III and his wife, Kristi, of Roanoke, VA; her youngest son, Ralph McClelland of Abbeville, LA; and her daughter, Marcia McClelland Boudreaux of San Francisco, CA. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew McClelland. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Chad and Nicole McClelland of Lafayette, Robert McClelland IV and Gabrielle McClelland of Roanoke, VA and, Camren Boudreaux of San Francisco, CA. Wanda was born on September 24, 1936 in Morgan City to Emile and Philonese Barbier. A Morgan City High School graduate, Wanda met her future husband in the late fifties while employed at Morgan City Bank. Not long after their first date, their fifty-eight year marriage began. In the late nineties Wanda retired from Lakewood Hospital after more than thirty years of service. For several years following her retirement, she and Bob enjoyed traveling in their motor home while working part-time in Florida and Tennessee. They also spent many happy days enjoying the Mississippi Gulf Coast. At the time of her death, Wanda was an active and dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a long-time member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary. She also served on the Lakewood Hospital Credit Union Board of Directors for many years. Wanda was a faith-filled loving wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Always willing to help out anyone in need, Wanda never met a stranger. She was a kind- hearted and generous woman to all who knew her. Even through the end of her illness she continued to offer support to those who were closest to her heart. A true gift from God, she touched many lives. Pallbearers will be Wanda's beloved sons and her grandchildren The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the sixth floor staff of Teche Regional Medical Center and to Dr. Lantier Albert, Dr. Kristi Prejean, Dr. Tomas Birriel, Dr. Nicolas Sells, and especially to Dr. Robert Blereau, long-time friend and caring physician. Visitation be observed from 8 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 A.M. prior to the Mass. Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of the arrangements. ===================
