Leelan Palmature, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away at his home 
surrounded by his loving family on September 27th, 2015 at the age of 75.

Leelan retired from Halliburton as a wireline operator after over thirty years 
of service. In his leisure time, when not involved in the lives of his family, 
he enjoyed bass fishing and gardening. He will be sadly missed by all those who 
loved him.

Leelan leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 42 years Catherine 
Jones Palmature of Bayou Vista, daughters Sheila Winters of Morgan City, Pam 
Buford of Bayou Vista, and Jessie Blanchard and husband Craig of Golden Meadow, 
sons Charles Buford of Houston and Chip Buford and wife Chastity of 
Centerville, sister Joann Holliman of Morgan City, brother Tony Palmature and 
wife Shelly of Diamondhead, MS. Grandchildren Daniel Winters and wife Shane, 
Matthew Winters and fiancé Lauren, Halie Buford, Kennidy Adams, Christian 
Arias, Mylee Buford, Olivia Buford, John Buford and wife Amanda, Brandon Buford 
and wife Ashlin, Amber Gassiott and husband Matthew, Carlos Buford, Hannah 
Monceaux and husband Joe, Joseph Aucoin and wife Cadrel, Stefanie Billiot, 
Christopher Blanchard and wife Laurie, and Jeremy Blanchard, and Thirty great-
grandchildren.

Leelan was preceded in death by his father Elphese Palmature, mother Eva 
Murphy, brother Darral Palmature and son-in-law David Winters.

Visitation will be Thursday October 1st, 2015 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 
6.00 PM until 8.00 PM. Visitation will resume Friday October 2nd, 2015 from 
10.00 AM until 1.00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 1.00 PM at Hargrave 
Funeral Home. 

Leelan will be laid to rest in the Morgan City.
