Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1509.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 2:00 PM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista for Emmet Gerard Sellers, 88, a native of Abbeville and a 61 year resident of Bayou Vista, who passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at his home. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. Father Bill Rogalla will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services, with Father Angelo Cremaldi con-celebrating. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at St. Bernadette Church Hall from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM, and again Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM. Mr. Emmet was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, having served during WWII as a Desk Clerk. He spent his entire career in the Oil Industry, where he worked for Texaco as a Production Supervisor. Some of the fields that he supervised were Bateman Lake, Horseshoe Bayou, and Lottie. He retired from Texaco after 37 years of dedicated and faithful service. He was also a 4th Degree member of the Bayou Vista Knights of Columbus Council 6211, where he served as the Financial Secretary for 25 years. He enjoyed camping and RVing with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Beverly Mayard Sellers; his four children, Steven Sellers and his wife Lois, Clyde Sellers and his wife Debbie, Neil Sellers and his wife Gwen, and Douglas Sellers and his wife Cheryl; seven grandchildren, Alaina Cummins and her husband Lee, Jillian Sellers, Gavin Sellers, Austin Sellers, Kyle Sellers, Dresden Sellers, and Carson Sellers; two sisters, Camille "Teta" Vidos and Yvette Landry; one brother, Gayle Sellers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Sellers; his parents, Gabriel and Hilda Rageur Sellers; and one brother, Roger Sellers. Serving as pallbearers will be Gavin Sellers, Austin Sellers, Kyle Sellers, Don Broussard, Keith Sellers, and Carl Sellers.
